Discover Blue Monday

Located in the heart of Tokyo’s vibrant Setagaya City, Blue Monday offers a unique dining experience that combines contemporary flair with a cozy, laid-back atmosphere. Situated on the second floor of the Shimokita Building, this charming restaurant invites guests to unwind and savor delicious dishes while soaking in the creative energy of the bustling city.

As you step inside, the rustic yet modern design of the space welcomes you with its eclectic décor, warm lighting, and an open, inviting vibe. The ambiance feels intimate and comfortable, perfect for a casual meal with friends, a cozy date night, or even a solo dinner after a long day of exploring Tokyo. The walls are adorned with art, and the music playing in the background creates an unhurried, relaxed feel that makes you feel right at home.

The Blue Monday menu is a carefully curated mix of locally inspired dishes and global flavors, ensuring that there's something for every palate. The restaurant's concept is all about fusion-melding the best of traditional Japanese ingredients with international cooking techniques. Whether you’re a fan of Japanese comfort food or something with a more international twist, there’s a dish to suit your tastes. A standout on the menu is their take on ramen, where the broth is made from slow-braised pork bones, creating a rich and flavorful base. The noodles are perfectly cooked and paired with fresh vegetables, making for a hearty and satisfying dish.

Another highlight is the izakaya-style small plates, which offer a fun way to try a variety of dishes. From crispy tempura vegetables to savory yakitori skewers, each plate is crafted with the finest ingredients and attention to detail. The menu changes seasonally, with new options introduced regularly, which keeps the experience fresh and exciting for both regulars and first-timers.

Blue Monday’s cocktail menu is another reason to visit. With an impressive selection of cocktails, including both classic and house-made creations, there’s no shortage of inventive drinks to enjoy. The mixologists behind the bar know their craft, and the drinks are as much a treat to the eyes as they are to the taste buds. The Tokyo Mule is particularly refreshing, blending Japanese whisky with ginger beer and a splash of citrus for a smooth, zesty finish.

For those with dietary preferences or restrictions, Blue Monday caters to various needs, offering vegetarian and gluten-free options. The staff is knowledgeable and always happy to accommodate specific requests, ensuring that every guest enjoys their meal to the fullest.

The service at Blue Monday is impeccable. The staff is attentive, friendly, and always willing to offer recommendations based on your tastes. Whether you're a local or a traveler from abroad, they make sure you feel welcome and cared for throughout your dining experience. The attention to detail extends beyond the food and drinks, as the restaurant strives to create a memorable atmosphere that keeps people coming back.

Located in one of Tokyo's trendiest districts, Blue Monday is easily accessible by public transport, making it an excellent option for anyone exploring the city. The combination of great food, creative cocktails, and exceptional service has made it a favorite among both locals and tourists. If you’re in the area, it’s definitely worth a visit.

  • Nice and comfortable cafe with an old school feel. Smoking is allowed, so be warned. The layout is nice with a cool arrangement of seating. The coffee was good and the cheesecake was delicious. Fast and friendly service too. Nice spot to sit for a spell and chill out.

  • smoking cafe with a great view of shimokitozawa, their coffee is nothing special but the atmosphere makes it worth it, the cigarettes they sold were thin ones but their lighter is very cute.
